Dim Sum Christmas
Pop n Foodie
Dim Sum Christmas follows a family who burns their Christmas turkey and finds a joyful replacement meal at a dim sum restaurant.
Lyrics
We set the table, trimmed the tree
Laughed too long, forgot the tea
Smoke alarms sang "Silent Night,"
The turkey turned to black and white
Windows open, snow blew in
Mom said, "Guess we'll try again."
Then Dad just smiled and grabbed his keys
Said, "Hop in the car — my treat!"
Dim Sum Christmas, bright and true
Lantern lights instead of blue
Dim Sum Christmas, steaming plates
We found the joy that fire creates
From dumpling dreams to sweet surprise
We saw the love in each other's eyes
Dim Sum Christmas, strange but right
We made our own peace on earth tonight
No silver bells, just porcelain cups
Red paper walls, and laughter's hush
Chopsticks tapping "Jingle Bells,"
Soy sauce snowflakes, ginger smells
The waitress smiled, she understood
Said, "Sometimes burnt turns out real good."
And every bite just seemed to say
Christmas finds its own way
Dim Sum Christmas, bright and true
Lantern lights instead of blue
Dim Sum Christmas, steaming plates
We found the joy that fire creates
From dumpling dreams to sweet surprise
We saw the love in each other's eyes
Dim Sum Christmas, strange but right
We made our own peace on earth tonight
The snow kept falling, soft and slow
We raised our cups and watched it glow
No perfect feast, no shining hall
Just family, love, and egg rolls for all
Dim Sum Christmas, warm and near
The sweetest night of all the year
Dim Sum Christmas, soft and light
We made a memory burned just right
From broken plans to something new
That's Christmas magic coming through
Dim Sum Christmas, strange but right
We made our own peace on earth tonight
